27 Δεκ 2011 · I’m pretty handy with car stuff so decided to have a go at changing the timing belt on my 4.2 D4D today using Anchormans excellent guide. All was going well until I tried to slacken off the serpentine belt tensioner – no way could I get the centre bolt slackened.
10 Ιουν 2019 · It appears that's not the case because people have reported on forums that their timing belt broke and the engine was fine. But, I guess it's still not something you probably want to roll the dice on and majorly extend the interval at which you renew the timing belt on this engine.

18 Νοε 2020 · Water pumps should be replaced at the same time, and kits are available that contain the belt, water pump, and gaskets. For a truck with 200K+ miles, the timing belt should have been replaced at least twice.
