As mandated by state law, all police officers in Georgia must complete this training in order to earn certification through the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (POST).
Upon application approval, the EOT candidate will be required to pass the following training requirements: Georgia Criminal Law, Traffic Law, and Governor Initiative training -16 Hours (provided by Ga. POST in a Zoom format.) Georgia’s Standard Qualification Course for Firearms (from a certified Georgia firearm instructor.)
Applications must be submitted to POST no later than two weeks before the course begins. Prerequisites. Students will be confirmed into this class prior to the start date. POST Council no longer issues hard copies of the POSTFORM-2 (P2). Instead, an electronic P2 number will be issued.
