17 Μαΐ 2017 · my brother shoots the 143 ELD-X out of a 6.5CM as factory loads, and has killed 3 elk, several deer and several antelope with it. very impressed with accuracy and performance. the mulie buck he killed in 2017 was at roughly 200 yards, found the bullet under the hide on the off side.
6.5 CM is a over bore cartridge, the original loading was with H-4350 with a 147 Gr Hornady Bullet. Superformance is even slower burning than H -4350, thus a 147 Gr would be a better match for Superformace . 143 Gr is 2.72 % lighter than a 147, so a faster burning powder would be more appropriate with a 143 Gr bullet.
30 Απρ 2019 · I've mostly been using 130 and 140 grain Accubonds in my 6.5 CM, but I'm thinking about trying the 143 grain ELD-X since it offers the benefits of a high BC. I would probably be using it for deer and antelope but I imagine it gets used for elk too. Looks like it's a conventional cup and core design with the interlock ring.
5 Απρ 2014 · My sweet spot with 143 ELD-X was 48 gr of RL26 @ 2990-3000 fps, with HBN coating had to come up .5 gr to match non coated, with mag primers it jumped back up so I reduced .5 gr back to 48 gr to match velocity. Tried from 47 - 48.5 gr at .5 gr jumps always same result with mag primers.
3 Νοε 2021 · Nov 3, 2021. #1. My chronograph is out of commission for now, so I decided to hit the range last night to see if I could determine it through a ballistics app. I'm using a T/C Compass with a 1:8 22" barrel, CCI 200 primers, Hornady brass, 143 ELD-X bullets, and 40.5 grains of H4350.
