  2. 13 Οκτ 2009 · All of your worries can happen on an airline that has assigned seats. Maybe less likely, but that can, and do, happen. Just for clarification. You will have an assigned seat prior to boarding. Airtran does not do open seating, so the fear of being trampled at the gate is unlikely. Unless you have Cinnabun and didn't bring enough for everyone.

  3. Seems to me she opted not to pay the 6 dollars for an advance seat assignment and took her chances on that the day of departure there would be a seat available. Whenever I use AirTran, I always pay the nomimal 6 dollar charge to get a seat assignment and not leave it up to chance or luck.
