I understand that those sites does not allow seat selections. If I were to book on a 3rd party site, will I be able to contact AirTran and successfully request and receive
We booked our first flight with AirTran through Expedia. When the reservation was made there was no seat assignment. I just went into AirTran site to select our seat assignment and for the "available seats" there is an additional charge of $6 to $25. We have a change of plane so I am sure there will be a charge for their "available" seats as well.

Online check-in is offered between 24 and 2 hours prior to departure for passengers who have a booking or confirmation number departing on a flight operated by Air Transat (Flight numbers with a "TS" designator, ex.: TS123). At the airport you will be required to drop off your baggage at the Air Transat Check-in Counter or Self-Service Bag Drop.
