All carry-on luggage must fit in the sizers available at the airport and/or in the overhead bin or under your seat. Soft-sided garment bags, up to 51 inches, are also allowed as carry-on items.
Maximum dimensions: 62 inches or 157 centimeters (length + width + height). Maximum weight: Economy - 50 pounds or 23 kilograms. First/Business - 70 pounds or 32 kilograms. Are there fees for baggage on American Airlines (AA)? Yes, fees might apply.
For travel on / before April 16, 2024, we only accept checked bags up to 126 in / 320 cm (length + width + height). For travel on or after April 17, 2024, checked bags over 115 in / 292 cm in total dimensions (length + width + height) are not accepted on American Airlines operated flights.
