Your file reference number is an 8-10 digit alphanumeric code, which you’ll find on the front of the information folder given to you by the Delta agent with whom you reported your baggage delay or damage. Delayed or lost baggage reports may also be filed by calling 1-800-325-8224.

Customers may check in, select the number of bags they plan to check and pay for or redeem miles (domestically, at most airports) toward bags during the 24-hour check-in window on delta.com, in the Fly Delta app or at a kiosk upon arrival at the airport.
