Expedia gave me a bargain fare for $196... I decided to go for it and it gave me a early morning flight non-stop which was great because that was exactly what I was looking for. I was flying from ORD (chicago) to LAX (los angeles).

Check the prices against booking directly with the airline/hotels. If it's a popular hotel, Expedia sometimes buys bulk rooms in advance for lower prices and offers those prices as deals. Flight prices are usually the same as booking directly with the airline, just might be a different fare class.
