Ohio Unemployment Insurance BENEFITS CHART - 2023 If your application for unemployment benefits is allowed, your actual weekly benefit amount will be determined (after you certify your application). You will receive written notification of your entitlement and this notification is usually provided within a few days of your filing.
Your weekly benefit amount is computed at one-half of your average weekly wage during your base period. However, in no case may the weekly benefit amount exceed the state’s annually established maximum levels (based on the number of allowable dependents claimed).
Each tier has a maximum time period for which your unemployment extension will last. Those individuals who exhaust the original 20 weeks of (Tier 1) federal benefits will automatically receive a recomputation of their total benefits payable, adding up to 13 weeks of Tier 2 federal extended benefits to their balance.
