FLSA AND TRAVEL TIME FOR NON-EXEMPT EMPLOYEES & EXAMPLES. I. GENERAL RULES . Excluding normal commuting time, employees should be compensated for all travel unless it is: . overnight; . outside of regular work hours; . on a common carrier; or . where no work is done.
