  3. The Spirit Airlines pet policy allows small domesticated animals to travel in the aircraft cabin on domestic flights. This includes flights to and from Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

  4. Spirit does not accept pets on international flights. Exotic pets (snakes, rodents, etc.) are strictly prohibited. A maximum of 2 pets can travel in a single carrier, and only one carrier is allowed per passenger. The combined weight of your pet and its carrier cannot exceed 40 lbs (18.14 kg).

  5. If you are planning to travel with an assistance dog, you must contact the airline via telephone 801-401-2222 at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled departure. The animal must remain with you at all times—in the airport and on the aircraft.
