The Tom Joyner Morning Show was an American nationally syndicated radio program, hosted by veteran broadcaster Tom Joyner. The program, which aired on Urban contemporary- and Urban adult contemporary-formatted stations across the United States, ran from January 3, 1994 until December 13, 2019.

Tom Joyner, who served as First Assistant Director on Steven Spielberg‘s Jaws, died last month following a long battle with cancer and heart disease, reports Deadline. He was 79. Joyner began his career in the film industry in 1969 when he was accepted into the DGA’s program for assistant director.
Joyner hosted the morning show at WJPC and, while there, gained his first national television exposure as the first host of the syndicated magazine series Ebony/Jet Celebrity Showcase. In 1983, Joyner returned to Dallas to become morning host at KKDA-FM .
