Is 1+1 equal to 1 or 2? A friend of mine stated that math can't be used in science since they use 1+1=2, but in reality it's =1. As an example he said that if you have two piles of sand, and added one of the piles to the other you get one pile, i.e. 1+1=1 and therefore math is flawed and can't be used as a language in physics ans other science.
