We booked our first flight with AirTran through Expedia. When the reservation was made there was no seat assignment. I just went into AirTran site to select our seat assignment and for the "available seats" there is an additional charge of $6 to $25. We have a change of plane so I am sure there will be a charge for their "available" seats as well.
If you don't pre-reserve your seats, you will be assigned seats (for no extra charge) when you check in, either at the airport or online up to 24 hours before your departure - but you can change the assignments until you confirm that you want to check in.
15 Νοε 2017 · If you have given advance notice to the airline about the seating accommodation you need and have received a seat assignment, and there is an aircraft change, your request for accommodation should be transferred to the new seating map for the replacement airplane.
