28 Αυγ 2023 · Qatar Airways recommends you check-in 3 hours before your departure time. Normally, the check-in counter closes 1 hour before departure, and the boarding gates close 20 minutes before departure. So, 2.5/2 hrs is fine.
I would recommend, if you have checked in on-line and have printed your boarding passes, you arrive at the airport perhaps 2 hours before your scheduled departure time, to do the bag drop, go through security, and then soak up any spare time in the lounge to relax before boarding. We’d like to check in / drop our bags as early as possible and head back out to spend a few hours in Doha, but Qatars live chat support can’t say yes or no on whether this is.
