The Metropolitan State University Library and Learning Center is a three-floor building, housing not only the public and academic libraries, but also the campus bookstore, the writing center, a small art gallery, meeting rooms, faculty offices, and a few classrooms.

The Library and Learning Center on the Saint Paul campus offers a full array of library resources and services for the Metropolitan State University community. It has comfortable study lounges, open study tables, study rooms for group or private study, photocopiers, dozens of computer workstations, printers, scanners, and more.
About the Library. Metropolitan State University began in 1971 as the university without walls. For many years, there were neither dedicated classroom buildings nor a physical library. Later, as a campus formed on the East Side of Saint Paul, a small library was started in the New Main building.
Most of the Metro State Library’s physical collections of books, DVDs, and curricular materials are on the second floor. The second floor also houses the University Archives, and a large silent study room. There are also carrels with computers for student use. Service desks.
