The airport spans 100 square kilometres, and was designed by Kisho Kurokawa and was inaugurated on the 27th June 1998.
The airport is designed to handle up to 100 million passengers per year. [1] It has colour-coded signage in Malay, English, Chinese, Japanese and Arabic and an automated people mover and travelators to allow easy movement in the airport.
Opened in 1998, KL International Airport (KLIA) is one of the region’s major aviation hubs. Located on the west coast of Peninsula Malaysia, bordering the states of Selangor and Negeri Sembilan, the airport is approximately 50 km from Malaysia’s capital city, Kuala Lumpur.
