29 Σεπ 2023 · The stadium built to host the 2004 Athens Olympics has been closed until further notice after its famous roof, designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, failed safety tests. A study found that the roof fell short of the minimum static adequacy levels.

The Sports Complex includes the Olympic Stadium in Athens, the Olympic Hall roof, the Olympic Aquatic Center, the sixteen courts of the Olympic Tennis Center and the Olympic Velodrome. A major boulevard called Central Axis organizes access to the various stadiums.
