So in summary: Skyscanner is good to give you ideas re. routes, schedules. It can also give you some indications re. prices, but those have to be checked. Best is to buy directly from the airline for different reasons (e.g. no middle man, no hidden fees).
1 review. Trustworthy booking site on kayak/skyscanner? 5 years ago. I know that in general booking through the airline is ideal. Often third party sites you can find through kayak/skyscanner will have cheaper tickets. I am looking now for tickets for 5 people and I could save maybe $1000 total if I didn't book through the airline.

Despite what some of the other contributors have suggested, there appears to be no silver bullet site/search engine. Finding the BEST flight will most likely involve using more than one site and it most cases booking directly with the Airline after you have found the flight you want.

When comparing Kayak vs Skyscanner, the Slant community recommends Kayak for most people. In the question “What are the best travel search engines?” Kayak is ranked 2nd while Skyscanner is ranked 3rd.
