You need to launch SMAPI through Steam if you want the Steam overlay, achievements, and playtime tracking to work. (If you don't care about achievements or tracking game time, you can just launch StardewModdingAPI .exe in your game folder to play with mods.)
13 Οκτ 2016 · To have Steam use SMAPI instead of the Stardew Valley exe to launch the game, but for some reason, it won't work. The path is right and I can launch the game from the SMAPI exe too, but it won't work in steam...
Launching SMAPI with Steam. You can do this with Steam by changing the launch options. Complete the SMAPI installation. Copy the Steam Launch Options in the installer. Open the Steam client. Locate Stardew Valley, right-click it and open Properties. Navigate to the General tab.
28 Ιουν 2024 · Install SMAPI. That's the mod loader for Stardew Valley — it launches the game with mod support and lets mods interact directly with the game code. It's safely installed alongside your normal game, and you can uninstall it anytime. Unzip mods into your Mods folder.

If you use Steam or GOG Galaxy, and want them to track your achievements and game time, you can configure them to launch SMAPI. If you don't care about achievements or tracking game time, you can just launch StardewModdingAPI.exe in your game folder to play with mods.
29 Απρ 2017 · Go to your game library on steam, right click on Stardew Valley, Properties, click Set Launch Options and type the following in then press OK. It should launch StardewModdingAPI.exe when you play the game.
