Spirit Airlines does not accept animals on international flights, except in the case of service animals. Depending on the international destination, specific documentation regarding the service animal may be required.
Spirit does not accept pets on international flights. Exotic pets (snakes, rodents, etc.) are strictly prohibited. A maximum of 2 pets can travel in a single carrier, and only one carrier is allowed per passenger. The combined weight of your pet and its carrier cannot exceed 40 lbs (18.14 kg).
25 Ιαν 2024 · The short answer is yes – Spirit Airlines does permit service dogs to accompany passengers in the aircraft cabin. Under the Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA), all major US airlines must allow service animals to travel in the passenger cabin with their handler at no additional cost. This includes Spirit Airlines.
Spirit Airlines requires that you submit a DOT Service Animal Air Transportation Form for each service animal traveling with you. The airline strongly suggests that you submit the form at least 48 hours prior to your flight.
If you are planning to travel with an assistance dog, you must contact the airline via telephone 801-401-2222 at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled departure. The animal must remain with you at all times—in the airport and on the aircraft.
