A ten-day residential course is an introductory course to Vipassana Meditation where the technique is taught step-by-step each day. The courses begin on the start date after registration period and orientation, followed by 10 full days of meditation.
The following timetable for the course has been designed to maintain the continuity of practice. For best results students are advised to follow it as closely as possible. 4:00 a.m. Morning wake-up bell. 4:30-6:30 a.m. Meditate in the hall or in your room. 6:30-8:00 a.m. Breakfast break. 8:00-9:00 a.m.
10-Day Basic Course. The basic course introduces you to the technique of Vipassana meditation. Whether you have attended a Vipassana course in the past or are new to the technique, we start with the basics. Over 10 days we practice two hours daily.
10-Day Courses. The technique is taught at 10-day residential courses during which participants follow a prescribed Code of Discipline, learn the basics of the method, and practice sufficiently to experience its beneficial results.
The information contained in this booklet is for the benefit of meditators who have completed a ten-day course with S. N. Goenka or one of his assistant teachers. Others wishing to learn the technique of Vipassana are advised to join such a course.
10 Day Vipassana Course - Day 1 (English) The first day's over. You have nine more left to work. To work very hard. To get the best result of your stay here, you have to work very hard, diligently, ardently, patiently, but persistently, continuously. It is your own hard work which will give you the best fruits of your stay here. Nothing else.
