Home to five National Historic Landmarks and Official Veteran Memorials on both state and national levels, Battleship Cove has been providing the preservation of both the military heritage of the New England region and that of the United States since 1965.
The main attraction of Battleship Cove is the USS Massachusetts, a WWII battleship. The battleship alone is worth the visit. A substantial amount of the ship is open to explore, and there is plenty of reading material to explain the history and function of the different parts of the ship.

Five of these vessels have been designated National Historic Landmarks, and the star exhibit is the USS Massachusetts (BB-59).
