They will usually either offer to help you recover your funds, or will tell you that your funds have already been recovered and they will help you access them.
Someone I have not spoken to in a long time reached out to me today claiming he reported my account on accident and I need to message a specific user to “verify my account” otherwise it will be deleted. Does Discord actually do this or is this some scheme?
This is a very common scam that happens either on Steam or Discord, or both. You receive a message from someone claiming that they accidentally reported you, and they will direct you to the profile of a scammer that impersonates a Steam or Discord employee or admin.
