14 Ιουν 2024 · The Lockheed Constellation started as a military transport. The Super Constellation had a range of 4,600 miles with an endurance of 20 hours. It could carry 20 tons of cargo. This made the C-121 a good candidate for some new military missions.
30 Ιουν 2024 · The Constellation was operated by a flight crew of four: two pilots, a navigator and a flight engineer. It could carry up to 81 passengers. The airplane was 95 feet, 1 3⁄16 inches (28.986 meters) long with a wingspan of 123 feet, 0 inches (37.490 meters), and overall height of 23 feet, 7⅞ inches (7.210 meters).
15 Ιουν 2024 · The model is consistent with Constellation's building plan as shown between pages 121 and 122 of Howard I. Chappelle's seminal work The History of the The American Sailing Navy. Chappelle also reports that Constellation was designed to a very fast, narrow design.

The ship honours Conde Bernardo de Gálvez y Madrid, who provided supplies, intelligence, and military support to the American colonists during the American Revolutionary War.
