  1. 18 Απρ 2005 · There is no sludge whatsoever but my lifters failed after 60k miles. at 80k, my water pump bearing failed, filling the engine with water, causing me to remove the heads and all gaskets. Cylinder bores showed no wear.

  3. 16 Φεβ 2007 · On a 2.7L you can see them behind the motor, if you remove the air box from under the wiper cowl. But even still, oxidation is not as big a factor in a tranny as it is in the motor. Don't forget, the engine has a pcv system in which air is circulated thru the motor to vent it.

  5. 30 Απρ 2007 · Sludge can happen with any engine. It's not only oil changes that are important, it's also flushing the system periodically to remove any contaminants! If you've never done that, then it's your fault.

  6. Early 2.7 liter engines could turn oil into “sludge,” causing engine failure—a problem which was somewhat common in the auto industry at the time. Chrysler quickly pinpointed the crankcase ventilation system as the root cause, because hydrocarbons were entering the oil and breaking it down there.

  7. 8 Μαρ 2007 · I have also seen 3.2/3.5 engines packed with sludge or squeky clean inside with well over 200K miles and running strong. The 3.2 engine I got for my car had 211,000 on it, and was very clean before I rebuilt it and installed in my car.
