28 Ιαν 2021 · San Juan National Historic Site is one of the over 400 parks of the National Park Service. It includes Castillo San Felipe del Morro, Castillo San Cristóbal, most of the city walls, the San Juan Gate and Fort San Juan de la Cruz just across the entrance to the bay.
The San Juan National Historic Site preserves the history of the island, told through Castillo San Felipe del Morro, Castillo San Cristóbal, Fuerte San Juan de la Cruz (El Cañuelo), the San Juan Gate, and most of the city walls.
La Fortaleza, which was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1960, is owned in fee by the Government of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico; San Juan National Historic Site, which was established in 1949, is held by fee title by the Government of the United States of America.
