18 Απρ 2005 · There is no sludge whatsoever but my lifters failed after 60k miles. at 80k, my water pump bearing failed, filling the engine with water, causing me to remove the heads and all gaskets. Cylinder bores showed no wear.
7 Μαΐ 2015 · The simplest solution here is to use a chemical engine sludge remover. There are some sources that don’t really like them, but they are the easiest way to get rid of engine sludge. They are typically added to the old oil, then you idle the engine for 5-10 minutes without driving it.
6 Οκτ 2014 · Might be defective tensioner or oil starvation to the tensioner (sludge?). Could also be water pump bearings shot and the water pump shaft and impeller slapping around, but sounds more like tensioner arm slap to me.
Replaced the water pump (inside the timing cover) and the timing set. looks pretty clean in there! especially for a "sludger"! 2002 106k miles. Amsoil SSO its entire life
