Grade Groups. Grade Groups are a newer way to grade prostate cancer. As noted above, currently the lowest Gleason score that pathologists assign to a cancer is a 6.
5 Νοε 2021 · In the new system, Grade Group 2 (3+4) is more favorable risk than Grade Group 3 (4+3). The difference is, when pattern 4 is listed first, it means a greater proportion of 4 than 3. This indicates the disease is evolving in an aggressive direction.

The grade of a cancer tells you how much the cancer cells look like normal cells. This gives your doctor an idea of how the cancer might behave and what treatment you need.
219 men with Grade Group 2 prostate cancer were managed with AS between 2000–2017. Biopsy was performed every 2–3 years or upon changes in magnetic resonance imaging, prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level, or digital rectal examination. The primary outcome was development of distant metastasis.
