It is in recognition of EMIS’ increasing importance that UNESCO and the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) organized an International Conference on EMIS, held in Paris, France on 11-13 April 2018, which brought together actors and stakeholders in education: national governments, non-profits, private enterprises, and international organizations.
An education management information system (EMIS) collects, manages, and facilitates utilization of education data. An effective EMIS provides systematic, quality, timely data, driving eficiency and evidence-based decision making. When implemented effectively, EMIS is linked to higher student achievement and stronger education systems.
