Despite sending me a confirmation, Expedia never bothered to actually contact the hotel. That means there's a pretty horrific issue in the system design over at Expedia, where confirmations are sent out without actually being confirmed, or meaning anything at all.
I think it's also a good idea to confirm your reservations with the airline and hotel directly before you go. I did this last night for our trip this week. I print out all email correspondence and take it with me.
My Expedia account and printed out sheet from my email shows my reservation confirmation for Saturday but for some reason they never confirmed with the hotel. The hotel did let my daughter swim with her friends for a while.
