We welcome small, vaccinated domestic cats and dogs in an appropriate pet carrier in the cabin on domestic flights. Domestic cats and dogs must be at least (8) weeks old to travel. Unaccompanied Minors cannot travel with a pet.
SWATT is a team of Southwest Airlines employees who volunteer their time using nonrev benefits to transport rescued animals all over the country.
Together, SWATT and DART are very compassionate in assisting to create no-kill communities nationwide for rescued animals. Volunteering allows Flight Angels to put their “Heart in Action.” All hours volunteered for transporting are recorded into Southwest Airlines Tickets for Time (T4T).
Pets must be secured in a pet carrier at all times while in the gate area, during boarding/deplaning, and for the entire flight. If you don't follow this requirement, your pet may be denied transportation. Customers traveling with pets will board with their assigned boarding group.
