18 Δεκ 2020 · TLDR: One way to resolve this is to perform the native authentication and then redirect the user back to the webview with id_token as a URL parameter. Please note that this is not a quick and dirty solution. Changing the user agent violates Google policies and is not a long-term solution. It also seems to have stopped working.

After hours of research I eventually discovered they had been sent a link to my app in Facebook Messenger, clicked it and tried to login within the messengers webview; which obviously failed.

Some developers use WebViews to help display web content in an app. Embedded WebViews puts your security at risk because they could let third parties access and change communications between you and Google.
