The method of inquiry for lost items is online. Submit a claim to inquire about a lost item on our website. To search for an item lost in public areas such as ticketing, curbside, baggage claim, gate area, stores, LAX-IT, airport parking lots, click here.
If your bags are lost, you must file a claim at the airport in the Baggage Service Office. Learn more about the process for delayed and damaged bags. What to do if you’ve lost an item at the gate, on your flight or at an Admirals Club.
If your bag was delayed or damaged and you notice missing items after it’s delivered, you must file a missing items claim within 24 hours of receiving your bag for flights within the U.S., or 7 days for international flights. Submit a claim.
We cannot award compensation for damaged or missing items without a report on file. Hold on to your ticket receipts and baggage claim checks until your file is closed. If your bag is damaged, report it to an agent immediately after you pick it up from the baggage carousel.

If your luggage hasn’t arrived when the carousel stops, speak to our local baggage team at your arrival airport to file a claim. Be sure to give your contact information, so agents can reach out when they have more information.
