Under the Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA), all major US airlines must allow service animals to travel in the passenger cabin with their handler at no additional cost. This includes Spirit Airlines.
Spirit Airlines charges a $110 fee per pet container on each flight (that means you will get charged $220 for round-trip pet carrying). The pet carriers must meet size requirements that are the same for carry-on baggage as they must be kept in the cabin.
If you are planning to travel with an assistance dog, you must contact the airline via telephone 801-401-2222 at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled departure. The animal must remain with you at all times—in the airport and on the aircraft.
