Spirit Airlines does not accept animals on international flights, except in the case of service animals. Depending on the international destination, specific documentation regarding the service animal may be required.
Service animals, emotional support animals (ESAs), psychiatric support dogs (PSDs), and general pets are all allowed on Spirit Airlines flights but with varying requirements depending on the animal’s classification.
The Spirit Airlines pet policy allows small domesticated animals to travel in the aircraft cabin on domestic flights. This includes flights to and from Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Spirit does not accept pets on international flights. Exotic pets (snakes, rodents, etc.) are strictly prohibited. A maximum of 2 pets can travel in a single carrier, and only one carrier is allowed per passenger. The combined weight of your pet and its carrier cannot exceed 40 lbs (18.14 kg).

Under the Air Carrier Access Act (ACAA), all major US airlines must allow service animals to travel in the passenger cabin with their handler at no additional cost. This includes Spirit Airlines.
