20 Οκτ 2001 · The capacitors filter out the electric noise created by the motor. Sometimes you don't need any but most often 2 capacitors are needed, one from each terminal to ground (usually the case). A third capacitor can also be added across the two terminals.
9 Απρ 2008 · There are two value ratings for capacitors that are important to remember for R/C'ing. The capacitance value (something between 0.001 and 0.04), and it's voltage rating (something at -LEAST- twice the applied voltage, bigger is better). After that, it's a matter of what you find thats fairly common.
The important thing is to shunt the RF energy and stop it getting up the motor wires to near the receiver. The actual value is not that serious: what is more serious is the capacitor type. Ceramics with plates are good because they are not WOUND like tubular polystyrene or electrolytic caps.
The capacitor seen on a lot of brushed motors is there to absorb RF noise due to the arcing as the brushes commutate. You often see these on the motors used in RC cars, where the motors are fairly powerful and spinning fast. The problem comes when you are using PWM to drive the motor.
