21 Οκτ 2014 · I'm using Yosemite and can't find the 1/2 symbol. I've checked in the character viewer and keyboard prefs. Open Special Characters from the Edit menu (cmd-ctrl-space). Type “fractions” in the search field.

26 Φεβ 2019 · 4 Ways To Type Fractions On a Mac. You can type fractions in text and word processing documents in a number of ways. The simplest is to use a slash character between numbers. This also works in cases where you want your Mac to perform calculations, like in Spotlight.
Type a fraction (for example, 1/2), then press the Space bar and keep typing, or press Return. The setting applies to text you type from now on—it doesn’t change fractions you’ve already typed. In Numbers on Mac, set fractions to format automatically as you type.
25 Φεβ 2012 · On Mac, it's ⌥⇧1 (Option + Shift + 1) to type the fraction slash, this allows you to type any custom fraction eg. 3⁄5.
18 Νοε 2015 · In addition to Jimmy's great information, you can create text substitutions for all the fractions. Just use the character viewer to create text substitutions for each string 1/2 : ½ , etc. The Text Substitutions are just one tab over, "Text" on the Keyboard system prefs.
27 Σεπ 2018 · Follow the instructions here: System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Text -> Little + symbol on the bottom left -> It will create an entry -> Type 1/2 on the left in the ( Replace ) Column COPY ½ from the list above. -> PASTE ½ on the right in the ( With ) column.
