23 Σεπ 2013 · If you’re running on Windows and just want to set up a server easily, download minecraft_server.1.6.4.exe and run it. If you want to run the server on any other OS or without GUI it’s a bit more involved. First make sure you can use java from the command line.

22 Σεπ 2013 · Go to http://minecraft.net/download and click the link Minecraft.exe (for Windows) or Show All Platforms if you're running another OS. Save the file in a preferred location and run it. Once you open it, everything should update automatically.

6 Φεβ 2021 · I tried to run 1.6.4 with MultiMC and the official launcher, in both cases the game wouldn't launch, but if I tried to launch it multmc / the official launcher would complain that it was already running. Minecraft 1.6.4 didn't show up in Task Manager, either. Is it simply not possible to run 1.6.4 on Windows anymore?
