Paper applications from Bahamas nationals should be submitted to the Nassau office. Notice of Eligibility to Sit a Bahamas Assessment BMA arranges assessments for Bahamians who have been trained for a STCW Certificate of Competence in navigation or marine engineering.
Pleasure Vessels are only required to clear outward prior to departure on Form C28: Entry Outward of Pleasure Vessel if they require Clearance Documents at their next Port of Destination after leaving The Bahamas. Temporary Cruising Permit must be present at the time of application.
The Bahamas accepts medical certificates satisfying the requirements of the STCW as documentary evidence that a seafarer is medically fit to serve onboard a Bahamian ship.
