If you don't know what you're doing, you're going to increase battery use by killing apps that just get relaunched due to registered receivers. Greenify (mentioned already), may work for you, but read their help pages: they do a great job explaining how Android's memory management works.
From what I've read on this subreddit, app killers are actually a huge battery drainer. Every time a app is killed, the android subsystem reloads the app back into memory, thereby taking up additional processor cycles and using up memory.
