I have booked a trip using cheapOair, and after booking it they sent me an email of confirmation which actually indicates that the ticket is issued! Also, they have charged my card. I took the ticket number they sent me and checked through the airlines online, I couldn't find the reservation, which was very odd!
4 years ago. You will now have to wait until CheapOAir call you. I expect the truth to have been twisted in the email statement. The credit card ‘won’t go through’ only because the advertised fare is not available and your payment authority was only for that particular amount.

There's most likely a small fee for cancellation even within 24hrs because of the small print. CheapOAir is similar to an Expedia just with a smaller name, with the 5 hour layover everything was most likely be fine.
