The City of Live Oak was incorporated in 1960. Pursuant to its provisions and subject only to the limitations imposed by the state constitution and by state law, all powers of the City are vested in the elected City Council, which enacts local legislation, adopts budgets, and determines policies.
The City of Live Oak's regular General Municipal Election is held on the first Tuesday following the first Monday in November on even-numbered years. The City Council is comprised of five elected councilmembers with staggered four-year terms.
The Live Oak City Council and the Mayor’s office are currently reviewing our vision and mission statement. As a Stakeholder you are a valuable component in this undertaking and we are seeking your input.
