Updated flood maps provide a more accurate picture of a property’s flood risk. How water flows and drains can change due to new construction and community development or natural forces such as changing weather patterns or terrain changes.

Rainfall Data. The District has installed and maintains 366 automated precipitation gages throughout Maricopa and surrounding counties which measure the amounts and timing of rainfall in real-time. These data are transmitted to the District via radio and stored on the base computers.
