  1. 25 Ιουλ 2019 · The Free Travel Scheme allows you to travel, free of charge, on all public transport owned by the State. This includes bus, rail, Local Link and the Luas, with some exceptions. Free travel is also available on some services operated by private bus and ferry transport operators.

  4. The Free Travel Pass allows holders to travel free of charge on public transport services in Ireland including Bus Éireann, Dublin Bus, Go-Ahead Ireland, Iarnród Éireann, Luas, TFI Local Link and Kilkenny Services operated by City Direct.

  5. Under the Department of Social Protection’s Free Travel Scheme, persons aged 66 or older and living permanently in Ireland are entitled to of avail of free travel across the country’s public transport network.

  6. Free Travel Pass - If you qualify for Free Travel, your Public Services Card (PSC) will have FT (for Free Travel) in the top left-handed corner. Free Travel Pass is valid on all Citylink services.

  7. In advance of the changes announced in Budget 2024 coming into effect on July 29th, the Department of Social Protection is now inviting applications for the expanded Free Travel scheme. The form to apply for the scheme is available to read or download at the end of this article.
