What is the 3-1-1 liquids rule? Each passenger is limited to one quart-size bag of liquids, gels and aerosols. Common travel items that must comply with the 3-1-1 liquids rule include toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash and lotion.
You are allowed to bring a quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes in your carry-on bag and through the checkpoint. These are limited to travel-sized containers that are 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item.
For all domestic and international travel, the following items must be removed from carry-on bags and placed into separate bins for X-ray screening: Electronics larger than a cell phone; Liquids – please note that the 3-1-1 rule still applies
