Now, it seems an individual has shed some light on another bothersome bug in Google Photos which results in duplicate images and photos being cataloged under wrong dates on the Android app.
18 Ιαν 2021 · Use exiftool to identify media files in my takout library that were missing dates. Copy these media files into a staging area. Copy the corresponding json files into a staging area with a normalized name. I say normalized, because because Google didn’t always create the json files with the same naming convention.
4 Ιουν 2015 · Probably recently added by Google, it's now possible to edit the date of photos on photos.google.com itself. Simply open a photo, click on the 'i' information icon and there it is; an editable date.
