Go to the Info tab in the Free Company interface and there will be an option to leave the free company. Note you can't leave a free company if your chocobo is stabled or you have a private room.

So I'm planning on leaving my free company and I'm mostly wondering what happens to your private room if you leave. I'm seeing different answers when I search this but don't know if anything's changed.
If you open up the free company menu (default ";") there is a leave button at the bottom. You might have to go to the Roster tab.
23 Ιουν 2024 · To form a free company, a player must first submit a free company petition after acquiring signatures from three other players. The player who submits the petition will become master of the free company, and can invite additional players to join.
By clicking said window, players can accept the Free Company invite. In order to leave a Free Company players must go to the Free Company window from the Social Lists in the Main Menu and from the Info tab select the 'Leave Company' button located at the bottom.
