29 Δεκ 2010 · I can change the belt in about 10 min, now. The best way is to remove the little shroud and the tensioner. But it can be done without removing the tensioner. The first time I changed the belt I didn't remove either the shroud nor the tensioner, that way took me about 45min.
13 Ιουλ 2008 · For those of you unfamiliar with belt removal procedures on a 6.0L, there is a lock tab that holds the tensioner in the released position to facilitate belt removal and replacement. Here are the pictures:
1 Μαρ 2013 · Changed out the alternator on my 2006 SD. Things went well until I pulled up on the belt to place it on the alternator pulley. The belt did not snug back down to its previous level of tension. Gave it a good tug to clear the pulley but now the belt is too loose.

12 Απρ 2012 · I am far from mechanically inclined and I managed to change out the tensioner on my 2003 6.0 today. I had to remove the radiator shroud, and loosen another fixture between the motor and the fan blade. Once I did that removal of the tensioner was a breeze. My tensioner was essentially seized.
