26 Νοε 2012 · 1.3 is great for base coating. a 1.4 is perfered for clearing. if useing a hvlp just turn the psi up some.

You need to take note that you’ll have a little bit more paint coming out on the panel with the 1.4 than the 1.3, but there’s not a huge difference. 2 Σεπ 2014 · First, examine the coating that will be sprayed. Put simply, heavier coatings will require a larger orifice size than lighter ones. For example, primers are usually thicker than the accompanying paint so you should use a 1.7 or 1.8 mm tip to prime most surfaces.
18 Φεβ 2023 · The orange cap (not "tip") is designed for base coat. Base coat is generally a much lighter viscosity than clear, especially the HS clears that are around now. The silver cap is designed for clear and will handle that task much better than the orange. The difference is how the paint is atomised and then controlled once it leaves the fluid tip.
9 Απρ 2020 · With a lot of research, they are finding that the finer the tip (like a 1.3), the clears atomize much better then the larger tips (even a 1.4) and lay out much better. With a 1.7 tip, even with the fluid tip turned it, it would take a lot of air pressure to atomize that clear. Could it be done, yes.
